Tools for Creating Ornate Lettering Designs in ProCreate for iPad Pro

Oooweeee when I first saw ProCreate being used on the iPad with Apple Pencil I was excited.

Sceptical, but excited.

Was this tool as good as it looked? Did it feel like paper and write like a real pencil or brush? Really? Was it good? I had to find out. I remember reaching out to my good friend and amazing letterer and illustrator Jess Cruickshank who already had the iPad and had been busy creating beautiful work in ProCreate. Few conversations with her and she had me convinced. Next step was to go into the Apple store, see how the pencil felt in my hand and on the screen, and with that, I was sold. I bought the iPad Pro and a copy of the ProCreate App.

If you’ve used ProCreate before, you’d know why I got so excited. Haven’t used it before? Give it a go, honestly, I think you’ll love it.

So after much time playing on the app, using it for work, creating illustrations, branding and lettering pieces all on my iPad, I’ve finally got round to creating some tools to help you create beautiful lettering compositions in record time.

Here’s a list of some tools to help elevate your designs to the next level. I’ve coated my favourite ProCreate Brush Sets and tools from artists including Ian Barnard, Ryan Hamrick and more. Enjoy!
